IMPORTANT INFORMATION RE PAEDIATRICS- Paediatric services are available ONLY for children who have had an injury that is likely to be treated and discharged. Any medical emergencies, injuries likely to require admission or cases likely to require monitoring (for example ingestion) should be referred to the Royal Hospital for Children

  • infants under the age of 12 months who require a hospital ED assessment should attend Royal Hospital for Children.

  • children age 1 to < 16 years – with illness that require an ED referral, should attend Royal Hospital for Children ED.

  • children age 1 to < 16 years - with injury that require an ED referral, should attend their local ED - GRI/RAH/IRH.

  • Eye Injuries:Ophthalmologist on site Mon - Fri, 09:00am - 17:00pm
  • Bone Injuries:14 years - adult, 3-13 years to RAH, 0-2 years to Royal Hospital for Children
  • Paediatrics:Under 14 years
  • Emergencies:Treated 24 hours onsite - no age restrictions
